The medical school welcomed new faculty members to its departments of Medicine, Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine and Family and Community Medicine in late September.
Harry O. Boamah, 新彩网, became an assistant professor in WMed鈥檚 Department of Medicine specializing in infectious diseases. Dr. Boamah earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree from the University of Toronto in June 2008 and he later earned his 新彩网 degree in 2012 from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Boamah completed a general surgery residency at Howard University Hospital from 2012 to 2013, then served as a research fellow in the Department of Biochemistry and Cancer Biology Laboratory of Inflammatory Bowel Disease Research at Meharry Medical College from 2013 to 2014.
Dr. Boamah spent 2014 to 2017 as an Internal Medicine resident at Northern Ontario School of Medicine, then spent September 2017 to 2019 as an infectious disease fellow at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.
Jayce Deleon, 新彩网, became an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. Dr. Deleon has worked as a general pediatrician at the Family Health Center in Kalamazoo since 2012.聽
Dr. Deleon earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in physical therapy from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines in 2000. She later earned her 新彩网 degree from the University of Santo Tomas in 2004.聽
Dr. Deleon completed a post-graduation internship in orthopedics at St. Luke鈥檚 Medical Center in Quezon City, Phillipines from 2004 to 2005. She completed a residency in pediatrics at Michigan State University Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies from 2009 to 2012.
Stephanie Ellwood, DO, became an assistant professor of Family Medicine with OB in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. Dr. Ellwood earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in genomics and molecular genetics from Michigan State
University. She earned her 新彩网 degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2015. She completed the Central Washington Family Medicine Residency in 2018.
